Please don't laugh but I'm setting up a marina hull cleaning service and many services run a small 110V compressor (2CFM) directly into a 2nd stage regulator. We will not be going deeper than 10 feet and of course will use an oil-less compressor.
BUT does anyone know how to adapt from the SAE J1926 O-ring fitting (3-8 24) at the end of a 2nd stage onto a 1-4 o 3-8 NPT pipe thread fitting at the compressor?

Easy, go to your local hardware store and get a 1/4 NPT to 1/4 copper tubing compression sleeve fitting. The thread on the tubing side is 3/8-24. Just slip an O ring over it.
