US-bought tanks -- are they usable in Europe....i.e., if I move to Europe, will dive shops fill tanks bought in the US? All the tanks in question have DIN valves. The country in question here is Switzerland.

Thanks.

Chris

Hey Chris,

AFAIK, that should not be a problem. But maybe one of the Swiss divers here can give a definitive answer.

Hi Chris,
Getting fills shouldn't be a problem, but getting the tank hydro'd could be a challenge. US tanks, valves, and associated fittings have different threads than their European counterparts.

I'm heading back to Europe (Germany/UK) at the end of summer, and to play safe I'll be selling my US tank and buying new in Europe... as well as a DIN adaptor for my reg.
If you don't already have one (but you're in Boston!?) there appears to be more variety in drysuits in Europe as in the US. The prices are about the same, if not slightly cheaper in Europe!
