Well we just got back and it was fun. We got to hear some very nice live music, saw some Hula shows, watched the torch lighting ceremony and the sun set. Still two more hours to go....have fun

and the little "Did you know" tidbit I learned?

Did you know that 65% of the nations SPAM is consumed in Hawaii?

that really sounds like it would have been a fun event - I'll have to go home and put on my SPAM shirt in honor of the day :D

I'm not surprised - last time I was in Waikiki I even noticed SPAM sushi at the cash register in a convienience store. A whole slice of SPAM on a giant blob of rice in plastic wrap to go...

mmmm Spam Musubi, Might have to try that. We're one of the odd mainlanders that likes Spam. Mom use to fry it up with some pineapple. Brings back memories......
