Hello from California, island dwellers. My wife and I are headed your way in July to celebrate our one-year anniversary, and would love to get some suggestions for local eats.

I searched and found the local grinds link, but it ended last year (and made me hungry):

This link sure is helpful, too...

We'll be staying in Kona and Kihei while we're over there, but will have wheels, so any recommendations for either island would be greatly appreciated.

Wrong Island for me, but give us some more information on what kind of food you like and don't like and the price range :D I'm sure some big Islanders can then point you in the right direction

Thx, Leesa. We're foodies at heart. Nothing is off limits (except balut eggs). I'd love to get a sampling of local food, great sammiches, sushi, fine dining, side-o-the-road, breakfast...you name it! Don't worry about price range...we'll be on vacation and living it up!

One of my favorite places on Maui is Sansei. They are out in Kapalua, though - but awesome sushi.

Everytime we're in Kona, we make a trip to Edelweiss up in Waimea. Love their rack of lamb.
