I am curious to hear from other Suunto D9 owners as to whether they have had problems with their compass. I did my first nav work with my new D9, and found that the bearings were often very off from a mechanical compass. Is there something wrong with my D9, or is there something wrong with all of them?

(No pins or screws in my arms or plates in my head, thank you very much.)

Did you calibrate it?

Also, when you change major locations, it's recommended to calibrate it again.

I don't use mine enough to know how well it works. I normally use a Suunto SK7. :D

You mean, accuracy...?

Yes. Yes, Yes if you calibrate it correctly...

Didn't know it needed to be calibrated after travel. I just did so, and I'll test again. Thanks for the help.

p.s. I did mean 'accuracy'. ;-)

Actually, not only after travel. It isn't a bad idea to re-calibrate whenever you change the dive sites. It only took about one min......

I have both an SK7 on my wrist and the D9 and find the bearings fairly close to each other.

However, I do have to calibrate the D9 quite often.

Cheers.
