Maybe this is a silly question, but are you certified? Just wondering because of how you said "whatever equipment necessary."

If you are taking a scuba course then ask your instructor ... if not go get signed up soon ....... don't buy anything but a mask and fins (for pool use) until you take a certification course ....... if you still have problems with the different brands and don't know what you like then SCUBABOARD is a great place to ask questions about the differences in equipment ...... good luck
