Dear Divers,
I have a question regarding Uwatec Smart bubble suppression. I have addpated this question from a previous thread as it was never addressed.
A problem can develop when bubble suppression is turned on L1-L5. As you dive the available bottom time indicated by the computer will slowly decrease until 0 minutes remain and it alarms to tell you to ascend to avoid exceeding your no-dco limits. The problem is that when the bottom time zero is reached (exceed NDL), and you now enter a decompression dive, Smart will indicate the depth that a level stop is recommended (for that bubble suppression level) and the time that should be spent at that level (no count down timer at that level stop is available). Smart may also indicate a number of deeper levels stops to be preformed with their appropriate times, if you continue to disregard the level stop and stay deep. However, Smart will not provide you with a time that you can actually stay at that level depth! You just do not know. It continues to read the depth and time needed for the level stop. It does not track your current deco status.
Does the vytec or D3 do a better job??
By not giving a count down of available time at the level stop, a diver can move into decompression.
Can someone help unravel this problem so that we can understand how the Uwatec would conduct the deco/level stop issues if you continue the dive.
Suunto gives you ceiling/floor data and time, as you ascend this changes in realtime.
Thanks in advance.
