Hi,
Does anyone have some experience that they can share
about the Sea Doo GTI UnderwaterSea Scooter? I am
thinking of buying one and haven't really seen any old
posts about it. My LDS didn't really know too much
about it. I was looking for using it for just recreational
diving, no tech stuff. Thanks.

Unfortunately the GTI would be the only one that would
fit my budget right now but the Explorer looks good.

I have the Seadoo VS supercharged. I think it's faster and rated for more depth than the GTI but otherwise similar design. I like it a lot.

My brother just bought a scooter off ebay for $225. Smoking deal.
It's the Seadoo X-151 and it's basically just like the VS Supercharged (actually looks to be a little better (it has metal gears and 24V batteries)).

We just purchased a SeaDoo Explorer for the shop. It was a lot quieter than I expected. Does not have the force of our Mako, but still a good ride for the price.

The GTI is cool and a great value. The next step up would be the VS Supercharged then Explorer. Be very careful of knockoffs as some have been deemed dangerous by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Here's an example: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/recalls04/2005/aqua_scout.html Many of these knock offs look almost exactly like the SEA DOO. Buyer Beware!
