I am in the process of changing my second stage hose and noticed some of the 3rd party companies supply hoses in 3/8" and 1/2" diameters. I'm not even sure what I have now, it isn't marked on the hose. What would be the "standard" size, and would there be any advantage of the "other" size?

Thanks,

Mark

3/8 is standard size, I believe Apeks found out that there wasn't a difference between 1/2 and 3/8.

There's a difference, just not enough to get the DIR folks to switch to 1/2" though. There are a few reg manufacturers that use a single 1/2" port, and the remaining ports are 3/8". The 1/2" port is always the for the primary reg. You can look at the 1st stage, if the primary has a bigger size fitting, then it's 1/2". If you can screw the same hose into all of the low pressure ports, then they're all 3/8".
