Hi,

Imagine my surprise when the local distributor told me that the shadow mask I just got won't be covered by any warrenty after it has left the shop. May I know what kind of warrenty can I expect to receive if something goes wrong with my mask like leaks etc etc.

I'm seriously considering getting a supermask but if that is the kind of service I'm going to get, I think I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Oceanic headquarters here in the US and are international partners may or may not offer various service program - free regulator parts, satisfaction guarantee, etc. The specific product warranties are at least what we offer here - on a mask for instance, one-year against defects in materials or workmanship. The only exception would be if you purchased a used mask, a warranty would not be expected on such.

Doug Krause,

Thanks for your reply however, should something happen to my brand new mask in during this time period what is my course of action. The local distributor or an expensive parcel to the us?

Should something go wrong, your local distributor is obviously going to be the most convenient and inexpensive route to go. I work closely with our partner in Singapore, I'll contact him to find out why you are being told that the warranty does not apply. In the event that you do have a problem, contact me or any of us here at Oceanic and we will take care of it for you.

Thanks for your replies and I sincerely hope that the local distributor understands that what she has said is obviously wrong.

What she told me was that if I left the shop, any defects found later is not her problem.

Sad to say her sales skills are prettly lousy.

Anyway, I do sincerely appreciate your prompt and helpful comments.

I am serious considering getting either the supermask or the scubapro full face mask and I'm leaning towards the oceanic now.
