I was told that you need a Overpressure valve in you argon First stage. Is this correct. The dive shop told me that you have to have this and a way to purge the tank. Please let me know.

Yes, you need an OPV. Otherwise, if you have a HP seat failure in the first stage HP gas will vent directly into your suit because there is no 2nd stage to vent gas. This will inflate your suit rather expeditiously and send you on a quick trip to the surface.

Purging the tank can be done by just hooking the hose up to your drysuit or a wing. No need to have a special part for that.

It's also a good idea to detune the first stage to an IP of around 80-90 psi. In the event of an inflator failure, this will give you more time to react by disconnecting the hose or shutting down the argon tank before your suit starts filling up.
