Typical Internet Return Policy

Hello, I'm new to SB, and scuba diving in general, but as any newbie should, I inherently have questions. One that I currently have is, What kind of internet return policy are you guys used to? Specifially, what is the return policy of your internet gear provider on BCDs? Thus far, I have seen some policies that say: Must return item in same package. Does this mean, you cannot try the item on? Does anyone have a good internet site for BCDs, specifically that allows you to break the BCD package, try it on, and return it in the box it came in if it doesnt fit? I'm not solely an internet buyer by the way, I do have an LDS that I support. Thanks a bunch!
