Well this is sort of dive related as I'm sure a number of us have seen these fabulous birds on dive trips and some of the threats to them also threaten other animals divers love like turtles. The idea is to collect 100,000 names which, rather soberingly is the number killed each year by longlines. You can be 1 of the 100,000 by clicking here:

Is there a generic, non-binding petition? All I can find is the one which requires submitting my email address and personal info. Unfortunately, I'm on enough conservation and nature email listings already that I really don't wish to be on another one.

I don't think so but you don't have to put in your email and can tick the don't send me stuff box (which should prevent all mailings/contact). I have a separate email address I just use for these sorts of things for the same reason.
