wow, always sad to hear that....my condolances to his family and friends...

it stated in the article "...had a history of medical issues, according to the sheriff's office." People have to be more careful. Still a sad situation.

Heart attack suspected in diver's death

Palm Beach County sheriff's investigators interview Republic IV crewmembers and passengers, after one of about 20 divers aboard the boat was found floating in the water.

A diver found floating in waters off Juno Beach on Labor Day might have died from a heart attack, a Palm Beach County sheriff's official said Tuesday.
(diver named removed), a Valrico resident who turned 48 on Friday, had a history of medical issues, according to the sheriff's office.

"There's no evidence of any foul play," spokesman Paul Miller said. "He did surface on his own. Sometimes that happens when a person is starting to have some medical issues."

(He) and his wife, (name omitted) were among a group of about 20 recreational divers aboard the Republic IV commercial boat out of Jupiter. They had been diving for lobster in waters 70 feet deep at the Juno Ledge, about two miles off Juno Beach.

When the dive was complete at about 11 a.m., Hauser was missing from the group.

A Republic IV crewmember found his body floating in water just north of the dive boat. A crewmember performed CPR, but couldn't resuscitate him.

Jupiter police and deputies met the Republic IV at Seasport Marina, and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue took Hauser to Jupiter Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

A medical examiner's report is pending.
