How well would a Mark 200 and R190 set-up work for recreational diving in California? I do boat and beach dives in Southern Cal right now, but always rent. I've come across a new Mark 200 for very low $ and have a good R190 2nd stage sitting in my drawer. From what I understand, the Mark 200 is an unbalanced 1st stage, produced between an MK2 and MK2-Plus. It looks like it wasn't produced very long?

Thank you for your help,
G Medina

Been doing further research, and it looks like it has gotten pretty good test reviews. It's no MK25, but I think for dives less than 100 feet, it's pretty good.

You might see of you can find a post on this forum about a year or two back by DA aquamaster in which he described the evolution of SP 1st stages. It's very informative.
