Need some recommendations for a nice place to stay and best snorkeling in Bonaire. Freinds of mine are considering Bonaire and are non divers. Have never been there myself and would rather be able to give them something specific rather than just seeing them pick a place of the internet.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

you've been on the board awhile, so I assume you've read some of the 4000 threads about nice places to stay on Bonaire? They all tend to say the same things.

Harbor Village is a nice place with a beach and spa and stuff like that, but more of a regular resort than a dive resort so won't tend to be recommended alot on here, though they do have diving. Would be good for non-divers. Don't know how the snorkeling is off their beach or dock but it's probably as good as anyplace.

YUP ...and that's why I was hoping for a more targetted recommendation specifically for snorkeling.

Check out the Divi Flamingo...great shore diving/snorkeling, nice beach, casino and close to town.

All of resorts right across from Klein Bonaire, the small island just off the coast, have great, super easy snorkeling. Capt Don's, Sand Dollar, and I stayed right between those two at the place that I think is now the Buddy Resort, not sure of that. You can see the drop offs starting at 30' in the arial photos right off the beach. There were also two small wrecks there and reefs that lead right up to the shore line.

I stayed there too long ago to make a hotel recommendation anymore, just that the area is awesome for newbie snorkeling and diving. Every site I went freediving and scuba diving on the entire lee side of the island was actually very good.

Bonaire has to be the "bunny slope" of dive resorts.
