I would like to get started in underwater digital photography but I don't have a high-end SLR. I do have a Kodak DX7590 and I am wondering if there is a housing available for it. Would this be a good way to start? I don't want to invest a lot of $$ until I have tried it.

You certainly don't need a high end dslr!

Look for a housing for your Kodak -> www.digideep.com I don't think there are a lot of Kodak models with housings, but you might be lucky!

The pink link in my signature also has a handy list of models that you might want to check out - and links from there to sample images and discussions on them.

I would point you to the Canon A series...even one of the older models such as the A85 would be a great place to start. I recently picked up an A520 in a bundle with a printer...the whole thing cost me less than $170. So no matter how you split that, it's pretty cheap! Canon housings are around $170 and boom, I'm in business!
