Any best recommendations for a nice underwater clacker(ie something that makes a noise)? I am thinking of just getting a little Knife.
Thanks,

Thanks, S.C. chrispete October 26th, 2002, 02:40 AM I'm not sure who posted this originally, but a little while back someone suggested getting a small length of PVC pipe, two caps, and a couple of ball bearings that'll fit comfortably in the PVC pipe. Glue a cap on, toss in the bearings, glue the other cap on, and you have a nice, cheap, do-it-yourself clacker... scaldwell October 26th, 2002, 08:46 AM Thank you! SC weight_for_me October 26th, 2002, 11:44 AM FYI...You may want to check out the discussion "What piece of equipment was a complete waste..." Noisemakers are listed numerous times. Randy... ladycute1 October 26th, 2002, 12:31 PM I have a mini Hammerhead underwater dive alert... and I have several friends who use 'sub ducks' -- I don't use it constantly... but it has been very important. -- I'm careful to avoid using it as 'noise pollution' -- but it has been very helpful in alerting someone when there has been a problem, or a fantastic sight. I have alos been with folks who use the pvc pipe clackers -- and I find that they work pretty well too. Liz Dee October 26th, 2002, 12:32 PM I use a big brass clip and tap my tank with it. The 'metal to metal' sound carried farther than anything else I've tried. When not in used, the clip stays on a D-ring on my left hip. Iguana Don October 26th, 2002, 03:55 PM Carry a set of Zildjan 16" cymbals with me. Makes a helluva noise and gets everybody's attention. chrispete October 26th, 2002, 07:28 PM Carry a set of Zildjan 16" cymbals with me. I guess you could use them as dive planes or rudders as well... Ontario Diver October 26th, 2002, 07:53 PM chrispete once bubbled... I guess you could use them as dive planes or rudders as well... Starfish October 31st, 2002, 09:22 AM I'm not suggesting you do this, only informing you: When I was last in Cozumel, one of the DM would disconnect his inflator line and use the metal end to tap on his tank. I'd suggest a clip or fishing weight instead. rgerman95 October 31st, 2002, 11:19 AM EBdiver once bubbled... Acou-Stick U/W Communicator. Works wonders for me.
