The dust has settled a bit since returning from the annual DEMA tradeshow in Orlando - and we've had an opportunity to update the web site with some of the exciting new products unveiled to the industry at the show.

The biggest "buzz" at the show was the unveiling of the consumer version of our Heads-Up Mask project. For those of you that have been following this, it has been a long-time coming - but well worth the wait. The military special forces units are rolling off the production line, and development of the DataMask HUD is well underway. We anticipate delivery in May 2007 - but will be rolling out a nationwide demo event program beginning in January or February. I see a dedicated SB demo trip in my future....

For complete product details - please visit http://www.oceanicww.com/p_computers_iddm.html.

For an overview of all of our new 2007 products including the DataMask HUD, Geo Scuba/Free Diving Wristwatch, HERA Ladies-Specific BC, Vortex V-16 Fins, and more - see http://www.oceanicww.com/new_products.html.

You may also find a PDF version of our new 2007 catalog - or, if you prefer, you may request a copy by mail at: http://www.oceanicww.com/index_contact.html.

Finally, for all those on your shopping list this time of year - or perhaps for yourself... Browse or online Gift Guide at: http://www.oceanicww.com/gift_guide.html.

Thank you for your continued support - we look forward to seeing you in the water.

Interesting idea Doug. I look forward to some feedback once these hit the market. What's the price going to be?

That's just too cool! A bit costly but considering it includes a comp, maybe a good deal.

Doug Krause:
The mask will be priced at $1495.95.

That'll finally solve the delima of "Mask on Forhead or Not". At $1495 you will not catch anyone with one of these MOF with the chance of loosing it.

Just curious if there will be a few different models as mask fit can be a personal thing . Great Idea but the big selling point to me would be fit before anything else.

this is definetly a cool product ... not sure how useful it will actually be, but certainly cool

i would try it if it wasn't so expensive ... i can't imagine paying more than $250 for a mask, period

This will ultimately provide a platform to develop a family of products. However, fit of this mask is obviously crucial. The miniaturization of our wireless computer technology and optic system aside, the skirt has been through an unbelievable design and human factor study process. The military required that at a minimum, the display would be readable by and the mask would fit 95% of their human factor study group. We have exceeded that requirement. Over the years, I have personally witnessed several hundred people trying the mask on and can recall three people that either could not clearly see the entire display or did not feel that the mask fit well.

You'll get an opportunity to try it for yourself soon -

Price wise if its like most things give it a year or so and the price should come down:rofl3: this statement doesnt seem to be true on scuba gear.

Just checking the specs curious if the battery is user changeable. also if I read things wright will only 02 to 50% and wont multi gas switch but these are all listed as N/A so I am guessing these are in the process for future models ?
