Well, we finally got back to Lake Havasu after about 3 years since our last attempt at diving that lake. We headed over to Site 5 and geared up. We headed into the water wondering if we'd find the cabin boat that is supposedly sunk there. Well, we did, and more. We found a truck cab, small boat, and the cabin boat, all in less than 25' of water. They're actually not that difficult to find. The cove is small and shallow. The water temp was 52 degrees and visibility was only about 3-5' below 10'. Not the best conditions, but definitely better than they were 3 years ago. We're posted a new page with photos on our website. Check them out! We'll be heading back to Havasu late spring to verify the better visibility claim.

last time we dove copper canyon, same time frame.. we surface to a boat next our flag.. "uhh, you guys find anything good"... nope, just $1.00 bill, an old coleman lantern, and a sleeping bag.

vis is in the 2-3' range, if you're lucky.

but it is warm at least :)

Last time I was over that way, Scott at TDL told us the visibility starts to open up around this time.

we did get some decent dives in (parked our rv there for the summer, went up on weekends to dive etc).. some of the other small coves the vis got to 10-15', just not where there's much boat traffic.
