Realize this post I'm responding to is old but I'm still using my original "The Source" acquired circa 1994 (as backup) and a newer version. Over a hundred dives on it and VERY happy with them (although the model doesn't do nitrox and will have to upgrade one day to one that does). Still, a very reliable and easy-to-use dive computer.
I recently acquired an older "Source" dive computer and used it on a few dives this spring. Today after it ran it's self check it shut itself down. The battery has not been changed in quite a few years and I believe it is time for a new one. It needs to be changed by Sherwood because it is an older model that does not allow for user replacement. Does anyone know how much this will cost and what the turn around time from Sherwood will be?

This computer is quite old but they still work great. Please contact a dealer and they can let you know what the charge would be. We may have a few battery kits around (once you contact the dealer the dealer will contact us) by the time you get this arranged but we will not be getting any more in stock. We also offer great upgrade prices on newer computers and our dealer can give you pricing and more information on this program.
