My local dive shop has scuba pro but can get mares ,we are in the mountains, cold water.
If any of you colder water divers have any input i would love to hear it.
I am getting close to purchase time.
I cannot afford dry suit yet.
and i like the flexability of wet/dry suit.

I dive in Pacific NW where the water temps are in the 40's and 50's. I started out in a O'Neill 7mm J-type wetsuit and loved it. Kept me very warm with the integrated inner 5mm core vest and then the 7mm shell over that. Never felt cold in it. I recently moved to a dry suit (Apollo 4.0 EX which can be had for less that $1000) and it is great. Note, I moved to the drysuit primarily because I was getting cold *after* getting out of the water when removing the suit (was fine in the water in the wet suit) due to the much colder air. I plan to use my wetsuit during the warmer months again.

There are many good wet and dry suits out there, this is just my experience. Have fun!
