Any ideas on removing or reducing scratches on the gauge faces????

Glass or plastic?

wow not sure let me check..

Chances are they are plastic. Unless there are major scratches, they probably dissappear once under water. In this case the cure is probably worse then the desease. I'd leave well enough alone. It's just part of diving. Just like us, your gear gets "character" with aging.

Ahh character... what a great excuse for being a klutz....

At my LDS, they sell clear stickers basically the same size as a gauge. When scratched just peel it and apply a new one .... 10 for 5,95$

Where are you Jim? Near Lake Geneva is 41 and sunny here in WI

If the scratches are not major, toothpast can be used to buff scratches off plastic equipment windows.

Use any of the white, opaque toothpastes on a wet face cloth. Buff in a circular motion and DO NOT USE POWER TOOLS!!!! (I did that many years ago on some guage and found that the friction produces enough heat to melt the face plate! Duh!)

Some guage manufacturers also make covers, face plates or face protectors. Look into getting one for future use.
