I'm interested in getting certified to perform service and repair work on dive gear. I'm wondering where to start and what the process is to get certified? Information on the process, cost, and things to do or watch out for would be appreciated.

This is likely a question that has been discussed before. If so could someone please direct me to the thread?

Thanks in advance!

Several professional career centers do this in a week-long class, 40 hours or so in length - you can get tech-certified for several product lines. One of the most notable is Hall's in Marathan, Florida, they offer the industry standard and is an example of wht you should look for in other programs: http://www.hallsdiving.com/career2/repair.htm.

In addition, don't forget to learn about scuba tanks and their care, this program is offered in local dive shops: http://www.psicylinders.com/.

And, take a gas and oxygen provider class, offered in local dive shops; example: http://www.desertdivers.com/DSAT_Gas_Blender.cfm.

Good luck.

Thanks Daniel... This is exactly the type of info I was hoping to get!
