Time: 8:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
Place: Islands of Oahu, Kauai and Big Island of Hawaii
Note: The Maui Count is conducted independently by the Pacific Whale Fdn.
The Sanctuary Ocean Count was initiated as a means to provide Hawaii residents and visitors with the opportunity to actively participate in evaluating the status of humpback whales in their breeding grounds by conducting a yearly shore-based census during the peak breeding season.
