Hi There,

I bought a Mares M1 dive computer when they first came out. I was wondering if anyone had information on what size O-Ring was required for the battery compartment. I've moved since I purchased it from the original dive shop. The 3 Local dive shops haven't been able to help.

The current O-ring is fine, however it would eventually need to be replaced. I'd rather do it before I find out it's been flooded due to deterioration.

Thanks.

lanshark,
I had the same problem. I bought a used M1 and it was missing an o-ring.

I went to a Servicestar hardware store where they have a nice box full of all sizes of o-rings and was easily able to determine the size I needed. I wrote down the size but haven't been able to find it. I'll keep looking but you should be able to do the same thing I did.

Alternately try the following advice I got from someone at the time -

From Dacordiver on scubaboard

Hey Sirto,
Next time you have a problem with Mares gear, give me a ring, I'm the service tech. I can't sell you parts, but i can repair them, and as long as i have the items around, I don't mind sending them out.

I found the info on the o-ring I used.

11/16" ID, 1/16" thick

This has been working for several years now.
