opinions on aeris xr2?

looking at the aeris xr2......anyone have one already?

I have the XR-2. Bought it in the Navcon configuration. It's a nice little starter computer that will grow with you. My only complaint is the Navcon. It's hard to get the water out of it after a dive and it's a little bulky. I plan to convert it to a wrist mount and eventually use it as a backup computer. The download/log software has all the basic needed functionality and works well. Aeris frequently updates this software mostly supporting new devices but bug fixs as well.

Aeris and Oceanic are one company (not sure who owns who), but all the computers from both are virtually the same when comparing similiar models. Really only slight UI and cosmetic differences. So you may want to compare prices to the Oceanic Veo 250. Also the VEO 180 is a little cheaper and the only significant difference is a fixed sampling rate (30sec) versus varibale on the XR-2 & VEO 250 (2/15/30/60 sec).
