Hi! I'm new to the forum. And looking for trip advice!

I'm getting very frustrated trying to find the right Caribbean place for myself, my husband, our 7 year old daughter and another couple without kids. We (the adults) love to dive and I'd like to find a kid friendly place with supervision for my daughter so we can dive. I really like "convenient" diving - meaning on site or close to on site boat docks. There are so many islands and places to stay but so far I can't seem to find the right dive/family mix.

Any suggestions (specific lodging would be great)?

Thanks!

Hi Lucia and welcome to the board.

Have you looked at Bonaire? Possibly the best shore diving in the world and wonderful people. I know of a couple of resorts that have kids programs that have been hightly rated by the people who have used them. At least one I know of has SASSY, the new PADI kids supplied air snorkling. If this sounds like what you are looking for, try searching the rest of this board for Bonaire and I think you will find a lot of the information you are looking for. I have posted links to several sites in the past. You can drop me an email via this board if you want more detailed info. Again, welcome to the board.

We have taken our daughter along to Bonaire every year since she was seven (this is year six). The best way is to hook up with another couple with a youngster, (without is ok if they're willing to watch the kid while you're diving) and dive in shifts. That way, the diving couple doesn't have to wory about the kids, the rental car, the gear left on the beach, the picnic basket or anything else. You can even swap out boat trips.
You'll still have plenty of time to socialize and compare diving notes.

Hi Lucia,

1. Anthony's Key Resort http://www.anthonyskey.com on Roatan has excellent programs for a 7 year old, including dolphin experiences & horse back riding.

2. Sand Dollar Condos http://www.sanddollarbonaire.com/sandpenny.html on Bonaire have a "Sand Penny Program" with pool, beach & arts/crafts activities.

3. Mexico loves children. All-inclusives on Coz such as the Allegro http://www.hotels-cozumel.com/allegro & Iberostar http://www.cozguide.net/resorts/iberocoz.html have reliable children's programs.

4. Might also want to check out http://www.rascalsinparadise.com/.

Hope this gets you started.
