hallboy February 12th, 2007, 07:38 PM Wich div op can propose that?? With nitrox? Thanks Divedoggie February 12th, 2007, 09:44 PM Thats pretty much the standard dives that we do with www.bluextseadiving.com We add the occassional night dive, but you don't have to. Search and you will see really good things about Christy and her Blue XT Sea Op. JessH February 13th, 2007, 04:38 AM Aqua Safari can do it. When you do a morning 2 tank boat dive you can get a spot on their afternoon boat dive for only $9. I would guess that most of the dive shops on the island would be able to accommodate 3 or even 4 dives in a day. Most seem to offer Nitrox as an option for an additional fee. ~Jess rje634 February 13th, 2007, 08:58 PM As with most ops there has to be enough people who want to go out in order for a op to schedule a afternoon dive. Most every op will offer nitrox for an extra $10 per tank. waynel February 13th, 2007, 10:13 PM Hallboy. We have a group flying down tomorrow(Wed.) we will have enough to schedule a night dive for Sat. night with Emerald Dolphin. They only require 4 and I'm sure we will certainly have more than that. My wife and I are planning on it, so that's two right there. We will schedule this dive Thursday. Check with them Thursday afternoon or Friday morning. We'd love to have you. element February 13th, 2007, 11:57 PM I'd agree that 3 dives should be easy to find using almost any dive shop on the island. My personal most dives on a single day in Cozumel was 6 dives on a wednessday early last year while staying at one of the southern resorts. Short boat rides help. I did 2 morning dives, 2 afternoon dives , 1 twilight and 1 night dive. It was a blast. I was exhausted. I then took the next day off to tour the island once again. NITROX, If you want Nitrox you may want to order ahead of time for the first dive day. Most shops need to order Nitrox the night before needed as it all come from the same source on the island to my understanding. MMM February 14th, 2007, 12:38 AM Most ops do 2 a.m. dives and/or 2 p.m. dives and/or a twilight/night dive. Unless diving with a very large op with multiple boats, I think it would be hard to arrange a three tank dive without having first made arrangements to book the entire boat for only 3 tanks. Main point I'm making is that you get a choice of 2 tanks or 4 tanks, but not 3. One previous poster has indicated an op that will permit this but my experience would be that this is an option for a minority of OPs. On your nitrox question, all will allow you to buy nitrox at an additional cost (going rate: $10/tank). A more relevant question is whether they will adjust profiles/SI to extend your bottom time or whether nitor will just be a "safety factor". element February 14th, 2007, 12:42 AM lol MMM, I was thinking about wisdom of diving at 2am :) then my brain cloud cleared. JessH February 14th, 2007, 12:49 AM lol MMM, I was thinking about wisdom of diving at 2am :) then my brain cloud cleared. I was getting excited at the idea of a dive op offering 2am dives when I figured it out ;-) ~Jess diver 85 February 14th, 2007, 01:53 AM check with Aldora diving...you can reach them on the internet @ Aldora.com......we're diving with them in March, great dive company..... Diver Kat February 14th, 2007, 01:02 PM We've done a few 3-tank dive days with Alison (Scuba with Alison)- if she doesn't have a full afternoon boat. She just drops us at the marina between the 2 afternoon dives ..... hallboy February 14th, 2007, 07:35 PM HUmmm; i have read a few things on the net , but mostly the third dive is a shallow one ( paradise reef like ) and the 2 in the morning are no deco /80feet. I's not that that i absolutely want to go down 150 feet ant make 3 deco dives the same day, but .... i come for diving , meaning if i want to make a third dive, its not to stay in 20 feet ( even if ai made wonderfull dives that way ) By the way, what about the dives on the east coast? scubawife February 14th, 2007, 10:48 PM HUmmm; i have read a few things on the net , but mostly the third dive is a shallow one ( paradise reef like ) and the 2 in the morning are no deco /80feet. In most places I go I do 3 dives a day. In Cozumel I normally only do 2. If I went with a large dive operation that sets time limits and runs on a schedule then I'd be doing a 2-tank morning trip and a 1-tank afternoon trip. I dive with Living Underwater. Jeremy provides low pressure steel 95 and 120 tanks. Our dives are always long, and there is no problem making deep dives, even into deco if everyone is comfortable with that. The larger tanks give us plenty of time at depth and the air we need to work off any deco. We dive our tanks and computers. Jeremy does not put a time limit on the dives. I have had a couple shallow dives that were just minutes short of 2 hours. I have done 3tank days with Jeremy where we dived on the east side the first 2 tanks then back around the point and into the marine park for the 3rd tank. Going to the east side depends on the weather and the conditions to make it around the point. Dive sites on the west side of the island are the better dives. Doing a 3 tank trip with the small operators is dependant on the other divers on the boat also wanting to do that. These shops also don't normally schedule an afternoon trip because they aren't back at the marina until near 2pm. I do usually try and do 1 or 2 night dives each trip. If you want to make the most out of 2-tank days I would suggest that you consider Living Underwater (www.livingunderwater.com) or Liquid Blue (www.liquidbluedivers.com) . If you want to get in as many dives as possible, have you looked at Scuba Club (http://scubaclubcozumel.com)? It's an all-inclusive dive resort. You will be able to do 2 dives in the morning and 1 afteroon or 2 twilight, as well as unlimited tanks for shore diving.
