I have recently attached a Venture wing to my older TransPac. There we no instructions that included in the wing package. I did however download the TransPac manual from the website. My question is the tank adjustment strap. I find no information on the routing of this strap relative to the Venture wing. If the strap goes outside and over the wing, it restricts the air from being exhausted and if I route the strap under the wing, it looks like it will stress the wing from underneath.

Does Dive Rite have any better illustrations for the routing?

The Venture wing, like others can be used in two ways: 1- with a single tank adaptor (STA) and 2 - without an STA.

When using an STA, the wing is sandwiched between the back plate and the STA. The STA is bolted to the back plate. Tank straps are passed through the slots on the STA and then threaded back through the cam buckles.

When not using an STA, the wing can be held in place by the force of the tank when attached (personally I don't like this method) or by using some type of flat head fastener to attach the wing to the back plate. The tank straps are then threaded through the long slots (on 11" centers) and then the cam buckles are re-threaded.

That help???

I just tucked it (the tank adjustment strap) under the wing and forgot about it. I thought I might have installed the wing incorrectly and thought I’d ask the question.

I'm not using a STA and like the setup, its just the instructions are at best, vague.

Yeah, if you bolt the wing to the BP, its way less sloppy between dives. Without the bolts, you have to realign everything over and over.

Mine is bolted with the SS bolt kit from DR.
It does stay put just fine.
