I just got the bare nex-gen and t-200 undies + boots+ gloves+hood for $850. I haven't dove it yet but it seems fine, it's only bilam so it might not last for ever. My buddy paid considerably more than me to get a bare trilam suit, which will probably last longer but I didn't have the money to make the outlay.
I ordered it from divetank over the phone and they were very helpful. I could have paid less and got cheaper underwear but then I wouldn't be so warm- the t200 is apparently very good.

You're in the price range of a used suit or a 7mm neoprene suit from someone like Oniel or Atlan. My Atlan sport was $499. new a year ago.

Or, go to a DUI demo days (which was just in CA).
If i were you, I'd save up a little bit more, and get a deal on a USIA or a DUI. There are good deals to be had at demo days and DEMA shows.
