I have a Pivot SPG/depth console that I want to remove the depth gauge from to keep the SPG for my computer. It's a great console, just a little too bulky for wrist computer diving for my tastes. Does anyone know how to remove the upper portion of the console that swivels? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Anyone have any ideas other than taking a hacksaw to the plastic boot?

I'd start by taking the spg at least part way out of its boot (might need to put it in hot water to soften the rubber). That will expose the pivot on the top part of the console, you might have to cut it off or you could just give it a good old yank! good luck

First of all pop the depth gauge out. This will expose a circlip which can be removed by expanding it with proper circlip pliers (just take it in to any mechanic and get them to remove the clip if you don't have the correct tool).
The top portion will then come away, leaving a small post sticking out from the bottom section.
I run mine the same way.

Just as easy to take out the depth gauge and replace it with a hockey puck style computer like the Veo series. Put a compass in the 3rd hole.
