Mike, the weather is supposed to be partly cloudy this weekend. Might be a good time to go back, if the tides cooperate. I definitely want to go back a few more times at least!

I went to the library yesterday, and found the article from the Daily News on the sinking, and printed it off. I was a bit dissapointed because the picture they had of it shows it tied off to a Japanese freighter earlier in the month, and there was no picture of it sinking. The quality is crappy, but it does at least give a good illustration of the outside of the ship. Once I get it scanned, I can upload it somewhere.

Great pics! Thanks for sharing. I hope to be back in AK for a week or two in May, I hope, I hope. I need a cold fix.

Thanks WC! They're pretty grainy with the backscatter and darkness but hopefully Brian and I can get back on the wreck this weekend:D So...we'll try our hand at the photography again:wink: You're welcome to join us anytime for your "cold fix"!

Will dive for Kauai Coffee

Mike... this next dive on the OP, I'm gonna have my camera set to ISO 400 and black and white mode. Hopefully I can get some good shots without a flash causing all the backscatter.

BTW, the compressor is back up! :D

So we went again today... planned on two dives on the wreck, but only got one in, because the wreck vanished into thin air for the 2nd dive. We got to the bottom of the anchor line, and there was no ship!

Anyway, here are some pics from the first dive. I tried setting my camera to ISO 400 but it's still too dark down there. I either need a case for my DSLR, or a tripod! Still, I think they look a bit artsy fartsy since they're in black and white too

ps-what's up with the avatars????

Brian your black and white turned out well seems to add something over the color shots.
A,S and I tried a dive several years ago at this time of the year and vis was so bad on the wreck I crashed into the deck before I saw it. Needless to say we called it, I must have smashed more than a few anemones though.
