I normally don’t use rubber when I skin-dive but I would like to start using a 2mm shorty.
Should I be using a small amount of weight to compensate for the added buoyancy the wetsuit will give me like say 1 or 2 lbs?

Sorry if this is a totally newb question but I’m a total newb.

Thanks

most def u should. when i skin dive in the pool for practice i have to wear some weight. idk your weight and such but i doubt 2lbs will be enough unless you are very light

3-4 lbs would be a good estimate to begin experimenting with. For scuba it is better to be a few pounds heavier than a few pounds too light. for freediving the opposite is probably true.

I would think a safe weight would be one at which you reach neutral bouyancy once you are at the depth you are going to be freediving to. Also depends on how lean you are (fat floats!!).
