The battery compartment is normally sealed from the rest of the unit. If it was exposed to salt water rinse it with freh water. Then dry it out completely (without blow drying it or using heat) and replace the battery.

Obviously you also want to determine why it leaked. Check the o-ring very carefully. You can remove it from its groove with finger pressure along each side to pusha loop off the end. Using a pick is a bad idea as it can damage the o-ring or worse the mating surface on the cover if you are not very careful. If the o-ring is cracked, feathered or mishapen you will need to replace it - your dealer should have one in stock.

If the o-ring is ok, relubricate it with silicone grease or Christolube b rubbing a small amount of lubricnat into the o-ring by rubbing it between your thumb and forefinger. Also clean the threads and mating surfaces of the battery well and cover. A Q-Tip works well for this but be sure to visually inspect for any stray cotton fibers before you put things back together.

When replacing the cover, finger tight with a quarter is fine - don't over tighten it. And then following the next dive after the computer is dry, remove the cover and battery in a clean dust free area to ensure nothing leaked and close it up again.
