Scubaroo December 5th, 2002, 02:37 PM Anyone else had connectivity problems to this website lately? Not sure if it's the site or the firewall I'm behind. lucid December 5th, 2002, 02:42 PM I have had problems connecting to DiveInn a lot since I first purchased from them earlier this year. I just wait a few hours and try again. DiverBuoy December 5th, 2002, 02:49 PM Imagine if you had that much trouble trying to get the front door of your brick-and-mortar LDS open? Scubaroo December 5th, 2002, 02:50 PM DiverBuoy once bubbled... Imagine if you had that much trouble trying to get the front door of your brick-and-mortar LDS open? Imagine if my LDS sold Apeks regs for what DiveInn does :out: DiverBuoy December 5th, 2002, 02:51 PM I would tell them ... they should be selling Atomic or ScubaPro instead :) Scubaroo December 5th, 2002, 03:02 PM I actually looked at both Atomics and Scubapro... but this purchase is for my girlfriend, so I'm not buying something I haven't personally tried. They're probably all just as good as each other - but it comes down to price on this purchase - either buy a set of regs locally, or get both regs and computer for the same money elsewhere. Been using "online" regs for 18 months+ now without a problem. gmbaker December 5th, 2002, 03:21 PM the site seems to be running a little slow today. funny thing is leisurepro is running quicker that usual. Scubaroo once bubbled... Anyone else had connectivity problems to this website lately? Not sure if it's the site or the firewall I'm behind. Scubaroo December 5th, 2002, 03:25 PM I can't even connect to it - must be the firewall I'm behind. I'll try it at home later. If it's running slow, it's probably because of the 10% discount coupon they mailed out to all previous customers today :) SPEEDSTER December 5th, 2002, 03:35 PM bummer, esp. since I too have that "coupon". DiverBuoy December 5th, 2002, 03:41 PM Hmmm coupon sent out to thousands of divers AND thousands of divers go online to view the website in an effort to spend their coupon AND the website has limited bandwidth and can handle a limited number of visitors simultaneously, hold on it's not that complicated I can figure this out... <lol> I own an Apeks ATX100 regulator and have dove on the ATX200, I just don't like it. When you go upside down it leaks - despite a couple of servicings. It freeflows too easily no matter where the venturi adjust is seated. The purge is too easily bumped, the regulator itself is too heavy, the design too poor, do yourself (or your significant other) a favor and spend a little more and go even with a low end Atomic. lucid December 5th, 2002, 04:15 PM I have a Tx50/DS4 combo for my doubles. It doesn't freeflow to easily and I have never had a problem with the purge. The size is great, it vents on the side of my face instead of in front of it. They also breath better than the mk25/g250 combo I just bought. They are cheaper and its well known that they breath a little wet when your upside down. Thats easy to fix though. Work on your trim :P Apeks are very nice regs for the money. mchiapetto December 6th, 2002, 09:36 AM Does anyone know what happened to DiveInn? I have been trying to get to their website for the last three days with no luck. Is the website just down or did they close up their on-line sales? Aquamaniac December 6th, 2002, 09:48 AM No Problems from here, Just made a Purchase !:D Try This http://www.scubastore.com/eng/index.asp Scubaroo December 9th, 2002, 02:15 PM DiverBuoy once bubbled... Um, sounds like you had a dud, or a dud technician - someone asked a question a while back about Apeks regs breathing wet, so I paid attention on the weekend - swam on my back staring at the surface for about a minute watching the sun streaming down through the kelp - no wet breathing. No leaks. I have two ATX200 second stages, and with the venturi in the "-" position, the backup (nor the primary in the "+" position for that matter) has never freeflowed. I love it. Been down to 120' with no problems. I agree that the first stage is a chunky piece of metal, but hey, so is my LP 95 tank. Went racing around Sat night chasing lobsters, and couldn't overbreathe it. Rooster1 December 9th, 2002, 11:04 PM yeah I got my coupon code but lost it can someone send me a freaking code please? so I can shop online some more:rolleyes: I just spent a little over $100 at Leisurepro but to the defence of my lds and my buddy who owns it he is still getting about $500 from me between January and March for more training an gear :) But the $100 I spent at Leisure pro would have cost me about $200 at his shop:bonk: DiverBuoy December 9th, 2002, 11:31 PM Scubaroo once bubbled... I have had terrible experiences with Apeks. They've all dove wet. I've posted some of my past frustrations in other threads. I am very glad you've had a positive experience with your regulator. Apeks was number one in my book when I first started (and I still have my ATX100 1st and 2nd stage and a 40 octo in storage of course) ... BUT then I discovered Atomic and ScubaPro, and never looked back. Rooster1 once bubbled... Keep diving. Scubaroo December 12th, 2002, 01:26 PM Turns out most of the site problems were related to the firewall in my office - not sure why it doesn't let the site open, probably some funky scripting thing the firewall blocks. Anyway I was able to place an order for some new Apeks regs and a Cobra. yknot December 12th, 2002, 01:46 PM A previous employer's net access wouldn't open DiveInn site at all- somehow it kept tripping a filter that classified the site as porn. Scubaroo December 13th, 2002, 06:26 PM Placed an order Monday evening in San Francisco - goods arrived today. Damn they're quick! And that includes a day's delay fluffing around with credit card authorisations. PnL December 13th, 2002, 08:49 PM Hmmm ... I've had no luck connecting to their site for the last week. I've tried from several different computers and at home to no avail. Any suggestions? Is it really a bandwidth problem? Is there a certain time that its easier to connect? Scubaroo December 13th, 2002, 08:53 PM I can always connect from home, never from work - it was a firewall issue for me. Maybe check some browser settings for site filtering or content access? PnL December 13th, 2002, 10:45 PM Are you able to connect right now? I used to be able to connect from work and at home and now I can't access at all - it seems that their server is down. I went though my IE settings and everything is at default settings. I even turned off my Norton Internet Security. I have access to all the usual web sites I visit, but ScubaStore seems dead. Maybe you could check something for me - I'm looking for availability and price for a regulator..... I'll PM you. Paul Dryglove December 13th, 2002, 10:48 PM ScubaKims once bubbled... PnL December 13th, 2002, 10:57 PM I PM'ed you regarding Dive Inn. This is really weird, I can't figure out why I can't connect. Internet Explorer can't find the server and it takes me to Yahoo.Com to search for ScubaStore.Com .... and there is the link to DiveInn .. but my browser can't find the server. Same thing happened to me at work (except it was MSN).
