My six year old daughter seems to be part fish. I've promised to take her snorkeling and I have a pretty good idea that she'll love it.

She will need a wetsuit. We live in Southern California where summer water temps are generally somewhere in the 60's.

She's 4'3" tall, about 70 pounds, and rapidly growing. I'm torn between getting her a cheap surf suit and replacing it as she outgrows it- or getting something better in a two piece suit that might handle more growth.

Ideas?
I'm thinking 5 mm with a hood.

Jim -

I had the same problem with my 12 year old daughter. She grew 4" last year. I found it to be much more economical to rent her wetsuit than purchase one. However - you may have a problem finding a rental suit for someone that small. :( Good luck.
