I might have the opportunity to spend a week in Hurghada at a land resort. I like reefs and sea-life, not wrecks. I heard that reefs in the Red Sea have been beat up by treasure hunters. Does anyone know if that's true and where it's happened? I would hate to see it :crying: What would day trips from Hurghada be like?

If Hurghada is a good location, then what's the best time of the year? I like warm water, good vis and calm seas, unless that's too much to ask.

Treasure hunters???

Hurghada is good but not the best in the Red Sea. The majority of dive sites are shallow. Day trips in Hurghada include 2 boat dives.

Warm water, good vis, and calm sea could be achieved in June. July will be a bit hot.

If it's you're first time in Egypt, I believe you should try Sinai (Sharm and Dahab) instead.
