We've talked endlessly about the new world of LDS versus online, and sporting goods stores (like Sport Chalet) with scuba departments.
Well, I recently went to the Gander Mountain Outdoors in Spring, TX (north of Houston), a national sporting goods chain: they have a full-service dive shop offering top of the line equipment and instruction. I bought a tent, fishing gear, two shirts, a pair of boots, a wetsuit and filled two Al80s. You gotta' see this place to believe it. I see the near future of the LDS getting clobbered by the lower prices, and equipment selection, that these big chains can offer:
