Hi all i was wondering what peoples views on cargo pockets.I am finding i need to carry more things with me in the uk dirty waters and was looking at getting a cargo pocket ,but i stuck between the ones you stick to the dysuit and the one that attach to your harness webbing and strap around your leg.The latter seem more veratile as it would not matter which suit i am wearing are there any pro and cons to the variations. All advice welcome.

At that price, put them on everything you own.
They are great additions to any wet/drysuit.
Easy to fit, and you will wonder how you managed without them.

I also have a Fifth D pocket and it is really nice. Two drainage holes also allow you to add a loop of bungee to hold items on.

Pockets are one of those things, it seems you either like them or not. I have them on my suits. I figured better to have them than not. To date the only thing I have carried in them is my back up decompression schedule, In case the other three evaporate, and an extra mask! I'm not in favor of carring a bag. Personally, I don't want any loose gear on my chest or sides. It would have a tendency to swing around and interfear with the management of my gear. As for something on my leg, I don't like things on my legs, knives, or bags, because of the potential of getting snagged. I also find getting into the hip cargo pocket, with all the velcro, isn't as easily accomplished.

I used to be a dealer for Northern Diver, they have a "weight & trim" harness that might fit your needs, and the whole thing (with 2 removable thigh pockets) will cost about the same as 2 of those 5thD pockets.
Nice thing is they go with you when you swap suits, or you can glue the things on & still have a whole weight harness to sell on ebay. Sorta like getting 2 pockets for free & have 'nuff loose change left over for a can of glue & a few pints of brew.

As a user of said Northern Diver harness I second that. Also a bloody good weight harness

E6000 is the same stuff as "Household Goop", made by the same outfit even. (Eclectic)
If you live in the U.S. there is a different formula for E6000 than in Canada. The Canadian formula contains perchloroethylene which is a known carcinogenic. The U.S. formula contains toluene, which although is a dangerous solvent, it is not carcinogenic. It is however more flammable. Because the Canadian standards are quite rigid regarding flammables and explosive, Eclectic manufactures a formula for Canada, replacing the toluene with perchloroethylene. Apparently, the people who set these standards in Canada are more concerned with the dangers of fires than cancer.
Where ever you buy your glue, the packaging will contain the appropriate warnings, so read your product packaging, and remember perchloroethylene is the one to be more careful with.

It's probably because people live longer from cancer than from spontaneous combustion!
