Just thought I would post that I bought myself a Christmas present today...a jewelry store was going out of business and had the Citizen Hyper Aqualand for less than $250! I had read on here and knew that it was a good watch, so I bought it. I'm not that much into diving but I wanted something in one piece to keep up with all my information, as I'll be using rental equipment for a long time to come. It felt like a good deal...what do you think?? What type of band do I need to get for it, instead of the rubber one that came on it?

If you don't like the standard rubber band. Try one of those nylon/velcro bands.

DO NOT GET THE CITIZENS METAL BAND!!! I ordered one from Sears (no one stocks them). I waited over six weeks and it cost about $120.

It had numerous link pins start coming out after about a year. I've had to have it repaired three times. It fell off while I was at the console of a boat. It landed on the edge of the console, we were in about 80 ft of water at the time. Next time I take a dive trip, I'm going back to the rubber wrist band.:boom:

I bought a timex velcro band for a few bucks. Works great, is completely adjustable and you won't lose the watch if you lose a pin.

Note - I suggest you buy the type of band that is one piece - not two sections. The one I am using is one length of webbing and has a stretchy 'watch holder' that holds the watch by it's two pins. If one of the pins comes out, the watch is still held in place by the remaining pin. If you use the two-section type of band, you will be SOL and will probably watch your watch fluttering into the depths.

If you are only using it for diving and not too concerned about looks, put it on a bungee.

It will compensate for suit compression at depth and you don't have to worry about pins popping out and end up losing your good deal.

great watch and that is a great price. i use mine as a back up for my Cobra DC. the band i get for all my sports watches is made by 'silverfoot' and i got it from REI up here in Seattle, but here is the web site and i get the 4109 3/4 quickwrap only...so far this has been my favorate out of the many i have used over the years of diving....link for killer velcro band...

You got a deal. Cheapest place I know to buy one from is Leisure Pro. They sell them for $279. You did all right. :tree: Bob

They must have dropped the price - they now sell them for $247.50. But, even $275 is far below what I have seen them selling for (in stores) elsewhere.

Of the bands that come from "down under" forgot the name. Will have to dig into my dive gear and find it. It is designed so that if you loose one of the watch pins you don't loose the watch. They are really great and can be found in "better" dive shops only.

The will fit any size wrist, wetsuit or drysuit either.

No, I don't get paid for this obvious commercial announcement.

Waterbourne is the name I think.
