The Récifs Artificiels de l'Estuaire du Québec Society (RAEQ) anounced that it has decided the NIPIGON WILL BE SUNK JULY 26, 2003 at 13:00.

The Annapolis Class ship displaced 3000 tons, and is 371 feet in length.

Of course this begs the question: WHERE?

It's a biiiiiig province!

I'll probably head up that way --- but I'm going to wait and make sure she goes down, hopefully in the orientation she's supposed.

I'm not having much luck - first the HMCS Yukon, then the Speigel Grove.

Well, I've got at least 3 of us that would be interested in a 4-day weekend trip, primarily to the empress.
if we can co-ordinate dates, could probably put together a good group.

I'll be diving the Speigel in March. How did you like it?:clapping:

I didn't quite make it to the Spiegel.... I had plans to, but things fell through at the last moment. Maybe next year.

What I was referring to was , that I had made plans to dive both vessels (prior to their sinking), and in both cases, they sank pre-maturely, and not how they were scheduled to.

I'll let you know how I make out, from the looks of the pics I've seen, I think it will be a great dive.

Canuckdiver, I would love to go also ( ie:Rimouski ) if possible.

Merry Christmas, Taz :D
