Calling all night beach divers!!! The Gooch, Mrs. Gooch, and I are planning a night dive FOR BUGS Thursday, August 9, three nights after regular season opens. Johnson Street would be my first pick, but I'm open to other suggestions.

Let's meet at 7:30 p.m., we can gear up while it is still light out, head East about 7:45, and it will be just getting dark as we descend to the reef. That is a good time of transition as the fish start making their beds and the crustaceans start waking up to look for dinner.

Remember your glowstick or other marker, your license, and your light.

I'd like to start a regular Thursday night dive, and locations can vary from week to week.

Everyone is welcome! So who's in?

Interactive map to Johnson Street here.

It is a big lot, just East of the big parking garage. NOTE: you enter the lot from one block SOUTH of Johnson Street on Michigan Street. There are master meters that take bills, coins, and sometimes credit cards and it is $1/hour. I highly recommend putting in at least three hour's worth because the ticket fairy is very aggressive.

Vino and I would love to come!! :)

(although she will be happier if the group gets larger... night dives with just the two of us kind of creep her out. :) )

Kewl!!

We have a little time to recruit more peeps. :)

The Gooches can't make this dive after all.

So then, who is actually in?

Wys, you are on your own with the Mrs.! :D

sounds fun
i just might have to join you guys.

it has been awhile sence i have suck down a tank and i have been looking to get wet again.

Yay we are back up!!!

I also posted this on Scubaboard Too but got no takers.

If you want to go on this dive, please e-mail me (debby.bradford <at> yahoo <dot> com) by Wednesday night so I know you want to come.

If I don't hear from anyone by Thursday morning, I'm going bicycling instead.

what is the bottem like there. I was on shearidon street least weekend and there was no hard bottem. just soft corals in sand. I did find ONE rock with bugs under it but that was after 2 hours of swimming.
