I'm looking for a hood, but I don't want one that feels like I'm going to suffocate putting on. I saw this one on eBay and was wondering if anyone has ever used it or knows of a better one (cheap preferrably...not sure how much I'd actually use it).

Gee, I guess I didn't know there was a difference. Do beanies not insulate as well? I must need to do some more research.

Mainly I will dive warm, but we have a few lakes I like that may get down in the low 70s.

What you have there is the "Inso-Beanie" - a 0.5mm "hoodie" that does provide a little insulation and actually ought to be just fine in the low 70's and stretchy enough to keep from feeling like you're too confined.
Internet retail on it is about $15...
