My nose runs like a spicket when I exersice.
I have zero problems with mask flooding and mask removal.
Having said that, can I blow my nose under wate? Is it a safe practise?
TIA, Spencer

I have done it and it is not dangerous.

My question is: Is SCUBA exercise? I know it is on land when hauling all the gear, but in the water I try to keep it from ever being aerobic.

When you're clearing your mask, you are essentially blowing your nose anyway... I do it all the time. It also helps give your mask a better seal on your face.:D

Shouldn't be a problem for you.

Snort some Sea Gold before your dive and and you'll have an instant defog at your disposal! (Disclaimer: Not sure of the adverse health implications.)

I almost mentioned that notion in my original post that scuba is not exactly exercise by my standards.
None the less, snot is an issue for me.
Thanks for your response,
Spencer

happens to me too; yet another reason for people to remember to clean their gear good after diving.

You should be fine. You may want to move a short distance away from others, though. I did it at 75 ft once and my insta buddy's eyes were wide as saucers. I don't know if it was because I had my mask off or because he realized what I was doing.

Initially it was my fall back method of clearing my ears and it worked every time. Press on one nostril and blow. Repeat for the other side.

I started doing this when I was skin-diving a lot. After about 1/2 hour in cold water my head would stuff up and air was not moving right at all. A few good snorts into the mask and all was right with the world. In the end it's just a more vigorous but vented 1/2 valsalva maneuver.
