aeris elite: date reset?

I went out diving yesterday and uploaded my dive to my pc only to find that the date had reset prior to the dive to jan. 2003. I haven't seen any posts about this on the site... my battery is good and the DC seemed to log the dive okay. I've had the DC for a couple years and have never had this happen before...

have you guys seen this before?

Not specific to your dive computer, but just a general observation --- a loose battery contact will often cause electronic equipment to do a cold reboot. This will typically start the clock at 12AM, Jan 1, of some specific year.

This could have been caused by whacking the computer really hard.

You might be able to infer when this happened by looking at the start time of your dive -- that will probably tell you how long before the dive start that the computer reset itself.
