I am getting ready for a dive trip next week and just realized that the AA rechargeable batteries I am taking are too big for a PrincetonTec light I have. Regular AA batteries fit OK. I measured them and the rechargeables seem to be about 6-7 1000th wider and just won't fit into the light. Has anyone else experienced this and are there many lights/computers/cameras where the tolerances are so tight that this is a problem? :shakehead:

I've never run into this situation, but then again most of the devices I've purchased (camera's, lights, MP3 players, etc.) are designed to take rechargeable. Recognize that the voltage on alkaline is generally a bit higher as well. An alkaline AA battery starts out a 1.5V where a NiMH battery is generally 1.2V. This generally does not make a big difference, but some devices are not designed to take rechargeable batteries.
