I'm leaving for the Maldives on January, 26th.

I have a 3mm and a 0.5 mm suit, both of them full length.

The second suits me perfectly in Thailand where water temperature is around 30° and there is no thermocline.

Will it suffice?

I like it better because it is light and takes close to no space in the luggage.

Any opinions?

Hi Chiara

I've just returned from the Maldives and the water temp. was 27/28º C.
I've used my 3mm and sometimes I was cold, but I'm a very special persons in what concerns cold.
From what I was told, water will get better during January, achieving 28/29º, so if you don't suffer much with cold, just take the 0.5mm.
If you'll do some channel dives you'll find thermoclines.

Enjoy your stay there!

Hi Chiara,
We went with skins in the Maldives in March.
The water was a constant 29 degrees at the surface and at depth. 29 degrees was also the air temperature, so you had no thermal shock at all when jumping in :D
My husband actually ended up diving in his t-shirt (no wetsuit at all) and NO WEIGHTS during the second week of our stay...
Have a blast!!
