The new Canon powershot G9 is looking pretty cool to me for UW use -
12Megapixel
RAW
6x optical zoom, macro to 1cm
it has a hotshoe so external strobe options seem improved
640x480x30fps video, 1024x768x15fps video

I have been pretty happy with my earlier canon s50 but the noise and lack of exposure tracking / focus during video makes the videos pretty poor.

I wonder how soon Canon will have a housing available for it?

Canon released the housing with the release of the camera itself (as noted by Gudge). Ikelite is actively building a housing as well and is supposed to be released later this month.
