The coupling attaching the inflator hose and the regulator is sticking a bit.
Is there any problem with lubricating it with pure silicone?

Are you talking about the coupling that attaches the low pressure hose to the low pressure inflator on the BC?

I find that sometimes salt minerals can build up in that area. Soak the coupling in some white vinegar and warm water. Then work the coupling back and forth while rinsing in warm water. That should help.

Yeah, that should do the trick along with some silicone. The bearings begin to build up corrosion, after a while. When i service regs, i give the metal ends of all hoses a quick run in the sonic cleaner to remove the surface corrosion.

Lubrication there will just collect dirt and make more problems. Check and make sure the schrador valve is tight. They can loosen up, still making an airtight seal, but making connection and disconnection difficult. Use a small flat tiopped screwdriver set down next to the cross piece with the protruding ***. Then turn it to make sure the valve is snug.

or red vinegar :D
I put a little bit silicon grease, put after putting the grease I remove almost all of it, so there is just a thin layer on the surface.
